Cook Island

Published Sun 09 Jun 2019

Today we introduced two new club members to the joys of boat diving! Conditions at Cook Island were fairly calm but chilly topside. Underwater along the north wall were lots of turtles, schools of fish, and a super friendly little mantis shrimp. At the end of the first dive two divers aced their buoyancy and trim exercises following training at the pool session the week before. On the second dive we all headed out to the turtle cleaning station and back which was great compass practice for the sports diver trainees :-) The day finished off with an impromptu rescue of a broken down boat, followed by hot chips back at the dive shop.
